Come and join us for our second Herb Conference at Our Haven. We're not just renting this wonderful land, we're a part of a steadily growing community and we plan to participate in the opening of a healing lodge offering many modalities. Part of the proceeds from the conference will go to funding this new project. We're also planning to build some herbal information stations to create a self-guided tour of medicinal herbs growing wild at Our Haven.
How many people realize that the Midwest United States* has one of the most plush natural environments in North America? Our Haven Sanctuary is one such environment. Except for the removal of dead-wood, and minor path building, a large percentage of these woodlands have been un-touched for decades.
Twin-leaf, once over-harvested for use as an over-the-counter medication, is sometimes listed as "Too Rare To Harvest". We discovered them blanketing the land in several locations. Wild Yam, Wild Ginger, May Apple, Jewel Weed, Lobelia and Blood Root have been found.
* Over 50% of plants needed for big pharmaceutical companies are harversted in the mid-southern part of the Midwest.
