All projects by Francine Gourguechon are done by hand, piece-by-piece so they have a unique one of a kind quality. Her mosaic work consists of combining ceramic, porcelain tile, stone, marble, stain glass, geode slices, river stones, metal pieces, miscellaneous objects and other materials to complete a beautiful unique visual facade.

"To me, mosaic work is the play of light and color wrapping a surface or an object. It reflects the light of its environment, it can be highlighted with water running over it and it enhances its place with color and pattern. Best of all, mosaics have a permanence that become part of the architecture in a room or part of the natural beauty in gardens. Mosaics last forever as the grouting and sealing are done with great care and respect."

Francine's mosaic installations are sight specific. She envisions the piece after becoming acquainted with your location. She will also discuss design concepts and materials.

Other fireplaces include a project in a classic bungalow home using green and copper ceramic tile and vintage trim pieces. Another interesting project is the 4 foot long 3D sculpted fish which is encrusted with art glass and mirror and hangs over a sushi bar in a downtown restaurant.
